Gilberd Marriot Gallery, Wellington - 2009 These images were taken in New York just before Christmas in 2007. I wanted to experience the pre-Christmas shop windows and decorations and being in New York in the winter. I wandered around with my camera at all times of the day and night and used camera movement and various shutter speeds to capture the shapes and light of the Christmas trees around Manhatten. It's such an interesting process because its so random but at the same time there is techique involved to create the patterns and shapes I wanted. I managed to get frost bite on my two 'camera fingers' taking these pictures in the freezing New York winter - but it was worth it!These pieces are printed on metallic photo paper - they look amazing!
